VEN GITURA MEMORIAL ACADEMY
The school is a mixed boarding school situated in Weithaga Location in Kahuro Sub-county, Murang’a County about 1Km from Murang’a Kangema road.
It was started as a project of Weithaga Parish in comemoration of one of our devoted senior Church leader the late Ven. Eshbon Gitura Githinji.
The project was launched on 18th September 1994 and its foundation stone laid by the Late Most Rev. Dr. David Gitari the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya assisted by Rt. Rev. Dr. Julius Gatambo Gachuche Diocesan Bishop Diocese of Mt. Kenya Central.
The institution was built through harambee and pledges from church members of Emmanuel Church Weithaga.
The first intake of class five to class eight was admitted in May 1996. Since then the school has been performing excellently and bringing up young citizens who are nurtured under the foundation of Christianity. Today we have CBC Curriculum being offered from Preprimary levels, Grade 1 to grade 4 and continuing with the 8-4-4 curriculum from Class 5 to Class 8.
We have competent teachers who are registered by Teachers Service Commission. We offer quality education and nature an all round child with good discipline and independent.
