Mathioya Sub-county which has 25 secondary schools and 30 primary schools sponsored by the ACK church. Kangema sub-county has 18 Secondary schools and 19 primary schools. We also have a Tertiary College by the name Michuki Technical College. Murang’a east has 12 secondary schools and 13 primary schools sponsored by the ACK church.
The academic journey of our Diocese was triggered by the missionary activities in central province, as early as 1903. These activities were actualized by the early missionaries like William Arthur Macgregor, Rev. C. Hooper and Rev. Dr. Clarke among others. This venture was made possible because the places where the church was established, school followed later. These basic education centres were later expanded to become major primary and secondary schools.
Currently we have 88 secondary schools and 110 primary schools. These include both public and private schools. Administratively our Diocese is divided into 4 sections which are also called Sub-counties in order to enable efficient accessibility and service delivery.Over the years, the following people have served as Diocesan Education Secretaries
